We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer – IT Infrastructure (Team Lead) to manage and optimize the organization's IT infrastructure, network security, cloud services, and system administration operations.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring infrastructure availability, implementing security best practices, managing compliance requirements, and leading the IT infrastructure team. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, experience in infrastructure security, and the ability to drive operational improvements.

Key Skills

1. Infrastructure & System Administration

Lead the administration and maintenance of Windows Server, Linux, and macOS environments.
Manage on-premises Active Directory, Group Policy, identity lifecycle management, and access controls.
Ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and security of infrastructure systems.
Establish and implement server and endpoint hardening standards, patch management, backup, and recovery procedures.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and drive root-cause analysis and preventive actions.

2. Network & Security Management

Manage and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, security policies, VPNs, and firewall rules.
Oversee managed switches, LAN/WAN infrastructure, network availability, and connectivity.
Manage Sophos Antivirus and endpoint security solutions.
Implement network segmentation, access controls, endpoint protection, and infrastructure security measures.
Review security configurations and proactively address infrastructure vulnerabilities.

3. Monitoring, Logging & Incident Response

Configure and maintain centralized logging and security monitoring solutions such as Wazuh SIEM.
Implement and optimize infrastructure monitoring and alerting using Grafana and Prometheus.
Investigate security alerts, system anomalies, and infrastructure incidents.
Coordinate incident response, remediation, root-cause analysis, and preventive measures.
Improve monitoring coverage, alert quality, and operational reliability.

4. Cloud & Collaboration Platforms

Administer and secure Microsoft Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
Manage Microsoft Azure services, identity integration, access policies, and infrastructure resources.
Implement cloud security, governance, and access management best practices.
Evaluate infrastructure configurations and identify opportunities for improved security and efficiency.

5. Automation & Process Improvement

Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash; Python is preferred.
Automate routine infrastructure administration, monitoring, reporting, and operational workflows.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen operational consistency.

6. Compliance & Information Security

Own or coordinate IT infrastructure-related SOC 2 Type II compliance activities.
Implement and maintain ISO 27001 controls relevant to infrastructure, endpoint security, identity, and access management.
Maintain security policies, SOPs, control documentation, and audit evidence.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external auditors during compliance assessments.
Conduct access reviews, track remediation actions, and ensure infrastructure controls remain audit-ready.
Monitor compliance gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions.

7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Manage infrastructure vendors, external service providers, support contracts, and license renewals.
Coordinate procurement, infrastructure upgrades, asset lifecycle management, and issue resolution.
Work with internal teams to align infrastructure services with business and security requirements.

8. Team Leadership & Operational Excellence

Lead, mentor, and support the IT infrastructure team.
Allocate tasks, prioritize incidents, and monitor operational performance.
Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, SOPs, documentation, and knowledge-sharing practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure operations, security, and service delivery.
Ensure timely issue resolution and effective coordination with internal stakeholders.

Required Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux administration.
Working knowledge of macOS administration and device management.
On-premises Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity/access management.
FortiGate firewall administration and network security.
Sophos Endpoint Security / Antivirus management.
Managed switches, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, and VPNs.
Wazuh SIEM or centralized logging and security monitoring tools.
Grafana and Prometheus monitoring.
Microsoft Office 365 administration.
Microsoft Azure administration and cloud security.
PowerShell and Bash scripting; Python is preferred.
Practical experience supporting SOC 2 Type II compliance.
Hands-on experience with ISO 27001 control implementation, audit preparation, and compliance management.

Experience & Qualifications

6–8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, network security, or IT operations.
At least 2 years of experience in a senior engineer, technical lead, or team leadership capacity.
Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure security, access controls, monitoring, and incident resolution.
Experience coordinating SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance activities.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
